Project Description

Project Description

Peronne Avenue Clontarf, has dual street frontages to Peronne Avenue and Sandy Bay Road, enjoying expansive views of the Spit and Middle Harbour.

The 4 storey dwelling required extreme excavation and stormwater detention systems due to the steeply sloping site and ground conditions.

The building is characterised by 2 pavilions separated by a central glazed circulation space which allows access through the site down to Sandy Bay Road and the water. The western pavilion is anchored into the ground by a stone retaining wall podium, with a wet-edge pool and deep set windows cut into the stone for light and ventilation to the basement rooms beyond.

Setback from the podium level and terrace is a 2 level off-form concrete structure with expressed blade and beam elements. The mass of the western pavilion is off-set by a cantilevered light weight pavilion to the east. This consists of a folded metal clad exterior with wrap around glazed elements.

A concrete roof allows car parking off Peronne Avenue with an adjoining roof terrace and garden visible from the Road. A floating canopy extends over the entry and car spaces.
